Horse Racing Rules

We take wagers on thoroughbred races from almost every track in the country and harness racing from selected tracks. We pay full track odds on all Triple Crown races and The Classic on the Breeder’s Cup except on the following wager types:

  • Exacta 250 to 1
  • Trifecta 1000 to 1

Due to the fact that we are not connected to the pari-mutuel pool, your bet will not affect the track odds.

Type of Wagers:

  • Win: The horse must finish 1st
  • Place: The horse must finish 1st or 2nd
  • Show: The horse must finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd
  • Betting across the board: You are making 3 equal win, place, and show bets
If the horse wins: the customer collect on all three wagers (Win, Place and Show)
If the horse comes in 2nd: customer collect only Place and Show
If comes in 3rd: collect on the Show bet.

    Example:
A "$5 Across the Board" simply means: $5 to win, $5 to place and $5 to show, which will cost you $15 total.

  • House Quinellas:The horses must finish 1st and 2nd in either order. Like an exacta box, but the risk is less, charge is simple.

** Note: For Action on House Quinellas 7 horses must run.

How to calculate the House Quinella payout:
Multiply the Win odds times the Place odds, divide this by two, then multiply the result by half of the amount you wagered.

  • Exactas: The horses must finish 1st and 2nd in the exact order.
  • Daily Doubles: The horses must finish 1st in each of the two races that comprise the Daily Double. Wagers must be made before either race has begun.
  • Parlay: Two horses from different races combined to win or place. Available only on the Internet.

How to calculate the Parlay payout:
Multiply half of the odd of the first horse times half of the odd of the second horse, then multiply the result by the full amount you wager.

General Disclaimers

The management reserves the right to restrict the amount of, or any bet, on any track, at any time. Also, after you have placed your horse bet wager with the operator, you will be given the official time of day, Eastern Standard Time, that your wager has been accepted. Remember your wager must be placed at least 3 minutes before the race starts, since the official post time for your wager will *always* have 3 min added by the system. After management verifies the results of the race, if it is found that the wager was past-posted, your wager will then be disqualified from any winnings, and your original bet will be placed back into your account.

We will post future odds on major races, usually one month before the race. If the horse does not run, the wager will be a loss. These odds will be taken down the day before the contest, so you can start betting on the horses on the track odds.

In odds posted for the Triple Crown, if a horse doesn't run or is scratched the bet will be considered a loss. We also take Harness Racing but only from the Meadowlands. All bets are based on a $2 ticket.
